Design Assistance / Technical Support
This covers specification review, product recommendation, systems configuration and BOM (bill of materials) to insure a technically superior solution.
Project Management
Includes product ordering, expediting, job scheduling, production/integration, testing, documentation and timely delivery.
System Integration
Tracan's Systems Integration starts at the system architecture level. Our core expertise is to provide board-level and system level hardware, software and firmware assembly, as required, for standard and custom specific configurations. Integration also includes installation at the component or board level, peripherals, cables and enclosures.
Project Documentation
Management of a complete audit trail database for each project includes piece part and subassembly serial numbers, task lists, customization or modification details, project costs, diagnostic and/or specialized test procedures and results.
Software Support
Can include installation of popular operating systems such as WindowsNT/CE/2000/Embedded, Linux, QNX, as well as customer specific application or other proprietary software.
Factory Acceptance Testing
Tracan will perform full Factory Acceptance Testing in our integration lab to the extent contracted. We provide fully documented test procedures and test reports.

Qualification Testing
Tracan's integration engineers can perform Qualification Testing or Type-Testing of supplied integrated equipment and assist at approved independent test facilities such as CSA to the extent contracted. Qualification services include fully documented test procedures and test reports.

When Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware or software is not available, a custom solution a; printed circuit boards, enclosures, firmware, software drivers a; can be designed, engineered and fabricated to suit specific requirements.
Ruggedization
Many embedded systems must be able to withstand harsh environments. Tracan provides extensive experience in ruggedization services and techniques.
- Conformal Coating (placing a protective film on electronics to protect against moisture damage)
- RTV Adhesive Application (using benign adhesives to secure in place socketed components and mezzanine modules)
- Extended Temperature Range Hardening (widening the effective operating and storage temperature ranges in demanding cold and/or heated environments)
- Shock and Vibration Hardening (improving mechanical integrity for computer parts and systems exposed to harsh physical treatment)
- EMI/RFI Shielding
- Customized enclosures for NEMA or other specialized wall or rack mounting
Warranty and Repair
Tracan provides timely Advance Exchange replacement products and subsystems for Warranty claims (when contracted) and in-house or return-to-depot repair, as applicable. All products and systems supplied by Tracan carry a minimum three-year warranty, which often exceeds the manufacturer's warranty period. Warranty extensions of four and five years are available to help keep long term system costs predictable.
Engineering Change Order (ECO) and End-of-Life (EOL) Management
Notifications and updates of ECO and EOL activity are issued promptly. Our customer database includes cross-referenced records of all product shipments, customer histories and supplier inventories for a minimum of seven years.
